Nutrition and exercise go hand in hand at the best of times but especially in weight
loss. As a matter of fact, a heavier person who exercises is healthier and fitter
than a thin person who doesn’t exercise. This is of great encouragement, especially
knowing that soon if you keep up with your weight loss program you will be both
healthy and thinner.
Our bodies function best when they are fed well with the best nutrients, are moving
during the day and then have a good rest at night. Exercise keeps everything in
good working order: the heart, blood pressure, flexibility, a strong immune system,
strong bones, muscles and healthy lungs, to name a few. Exercise even gives us a
better outlook on life and is an excellent solution for mild depression.
You can exercise alone or with other people and it can be very inexpensive – just
a good walk 30 – 50 minutes a day. Start slow and work up to that amount if you
aren’t used to exercising. As you become more fit, your level of exercise should
make you sweat and feel a noticeable change of heart rate. A good rule of thumb
is to be able to talk but not hold a normal conversation.
To fuel your body so that it can perform its’ best, give it the nutrients it thrives
on. A balanced daily diet of veggies and fruits (the largest part), protein (meat,
legumes, fish), carbohydrates (preferably whole grain bread, brown rice, other grains,
pasta) and dairy (low fat: cheese, yogurt, milk). Fat is required by your body as
well. Stay away from saturated fats and when possible cook and bake with oil.
Combining healthy eating and exercise will go a long way in helping you to lose
and keep off weight. Supplements can round off what is missing in our diets. If
you are trying to lose weight or maintain your present weight and are in your forties
or fifties, consider a program like Tahiti Trim® Plan 40®. Among other things, the
basic pack includes all the supplements needed to help you attain your weight loss
goals and manage it once you have arrived there. Included are herbs, minerals and
vitamins that are important for your body during the pre-menopausal and menopause
phase of your life.
