How Iridoids Work: The Antioxidant Science Behind Noni Juice

Antioxidants don't all work the same way. Here's what makes iridoids — the compound noni is richest in — worth understanding, and what the research actually shows.

Every cell in your body makes tiny unstable molecules called free radicals as part of normal activity. Air pollution, stress, and sun exposure push that number even higher. When free radicals pile up faster than your body can clear them, doctors call it oxidative stress. Antioxidants are what slow that build-up down. Tahitian Noni® ORIGINAL is rich in iridoids — a plant compound found in high concentrations almost exclusively in noni fruit. The juice is also blended with grape and blueberry concentrate, bringing antioxidants from two more fruit sources.

Most antioxidants come from food — vitamin C, vitamin E, and a wide family of plant compounds called polyphenols. Iridoids are a type of polyphenol, and noni is one of the richest known sources. Each 60 mL serving of Tahitian Noni® ORIGINAL delivers 30 mg of iridoids, drawn from wild noni trees and certified family farms in French Polynesia. Your body produces some antioxidants on its own — glutathione is the main one — but diet fills a gap the body cannot cover alone. The grape and blueberry concentrate in ORIGINAL adds its own polyphenols, so the formula targets more than one antioxidant pathway at once. Oxidative stress, left unchecked over years, can damage cell membranes, proteins, and DNA — which is why antioxidant research has expanded well beyond simple vitamin studies.

Tahitian Noni® ORIGINAL is made from 81% Morinda citrifolia (noni) fruit juice, blended with 11% grape and blueberry concentrate. No added sugar. No artificial coloring. In a 60-day study, 81% of participants said they felt healthier overall and 75% reported more energy day to day. See ORIGINAL pricing.
